Brigadoon Farm
Brigadoon Farm offers Vermont raised American Kobe beef. Our small family farm, nestled in the lush, verdant hills of Vermont offers American Kobe beef - from our family to yours.
Wagyu cattle produce the highest quality beef available in the United States. They are known worldwide for their marbling, flavor, tenderness and juiciness. They also exhibit an improved ratio of monounsaturated fats to polyunsaturated fats, contributing to lowering cholesterol levels. Only recently has this high quality beef been available in the US.
The bloodlines of the animals at Brigadoon Farm include Shidoosha, sired by the famous Michifuku, who is the #1 marbling sire in the Wagyu breed, and Itomoritaka, arising from the Fujiyoshi bloodlines. Brigadoon Farms is only one of two farms in the United States producing Wagyu/Kobe cattle.
Our beef is certified for the most rigorous standard of quality. Brigadoon American Kobe beef contains NO antibiotics, growth hormone, additives, or irradiated feed. Our cattle are raised on our farm. At no point are they subjected to commercial feedlots. Processing is done to exact specifications under USDA supervision at a local facility, stamped certified and packaged ready for your freezer. Specific cuts are subject to availability. Larger orders can be custom prepared.
Brigadoon raise their Wagyu differently from the strict Kobe-style model. First, the Wagyu are one-quarter Black Angus, cross-bred to introduce some positive traits from that breed. They are fed some grain, but grass is a good part of their diet, as hay in the winter and fresh in the growing season. Our cows freely graze outdoors so they have access to clean air, clean water and fresh grass.
Be assured that Brigadoon American Kobe beef is raised with state-of-the-art care, housing, pasture and sanitation management producing animals free of disease and stress. This is all done under the most rigorous farming guidelines.
