In 2000, Bill and Erica Fearn realized their dream of owning a farm when they purchased 23 acres and a home in West Suffield Connecticut. In 2005 Erica brought home her first two cross-breeding does. Farm management now includes sustainable practices and rotational grazing/browsing.

While most Americans are not familiar with the practice of eating goat meat, it is the number one meat consumed in the world:

  • Cabrito is goat meat from young goats, less than three months old and less than 50 pounds.
  • Chevon is meat from goats that are six to nine months of age and range from 50 - 75 pounds.

Goats are seasonal breeders, meaning that they do not give birth during all months of the year, but only in spring and fall.
